While the overwhelming focus on AI is unsurprising, what stands out is the diversity in how these companies are applying the technology across industries.Entangl and Exa Laboratories exemplify the direction of AI in automating complex processes and addressing energy efficiency, respectively. Entangl’s error detection for engineering projects and Exa's energy-efficient AI chips address major pain points in tech, especially as more companies seek scalable, green solutions for large-scale AI implementations. Kopra Bio and Theseus tackle areas with life-and-death stakes—cancer treatment and military drones. The boldness of Theseus in claiming unjammable drones has the potential to revolutionize warfare, especially in scenarios like the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Meanwhile, Kopra Bio's potential breakthrough in autoimmune cancer therapies underscores how biotech startups can stand out in YC’s typically tech-heavy landscape. I also appreciate the practicality behind LedgerUp, Oway, and XTraffic. LedgerUp’s AI bookkeeping solution could appeal widely to startups and small businesses bogged down by manual financial processes.
